Pricing

Amulet costs $0.20 per GiB-month of actively used data. API calls, transfers, and metadata are free. Every account starts with 10 GB free — no credit card required.

$0.20

per GiB-month, actively used data

Time-weighted average of the data your workloads actually touch — not everything you've ever stored.

$0

API calls

Mounts, forks, commits, publishes, and restores are all free operations.

$0

transfers

No ingress, egress, or throughput charges on any mount.

$0

metadata

Listings, stats, and history reads cost nothing, however hot they run.

10 GB

free tier

Every account starts free. No credit card required.

$0

per fork

Forks copy zero bytes, so a fork costs nothing until its data diverges.

What counts as active data?

The data your workloads actually touch, averaged over time. Mount a 10 TiB workspace and read 200 GiB of it during a training run, and it's the 200 GiB that counts — history, cold files, and the rest of the estate sit in durable storage without billing at the active rate. Because forks share unchanged bytes and identical files are deduplicated, running many environments from one dataset doesn't multiply your bill.

Frequently asked questions

How is active data measured?

As a time-weighted average of the data your workloads actually use over the month. Data your agents and jobs are reading and writing counts; a workspace can hold far more history and cold data than it actively touches, and you're billed for the active footprint — not the total.

What happens after the 10 GB free tier?

Usage beyond 10 GB is billed at $0.20 per GiB-month of actively used data. There are no tiers to pick, minimums to commit to, or per-seat charges — the free 10 GB simply becomes the first 10 GB of your usage.

Do forks and snapshots cost extra?

No. A fork copies zero bytes — it shares every unchanged byte with its base — so creating one is free and it only adds billable data as it diverges. Identical bytes are also deduplicated within your account, so a thousand environments forked from one dataset store that dataset once.

Are there egress or request charges?

No. API calls, transfers, and metadata operations are all free. The only number on your bill is active data in GiB-months.

How does this compare to EFS or S3?

EFS Standard bills about $0.30 per GiB-month on every stored byte plus throughput charges; S3 is cheaper per byte but bills per request and per GB of egress, which metadata-heavy agent workloads generate constantly. Amulet is one price on actively used data with requests and transfers free — see the AWS EFS comparison for a worked cost example.

Is there an enterprise plan?

For committed-use pricing, private deployments, or specific compliance requirements, book a demo and we'll put together terms that fit. Everything else — every feature, every workspace size — is included in usage-based pricing.
